DOMI S.A. is a leading Greek engineering firm in the field of infrastructure and is activated in the design, supervision, consultancy, planning and implementation of bridges, tunnels, buildings, technical, industrial and special civil engineering projects (e.g. silos, water towers, sewage plants, piling etc). It has a significant experience in earthquake engineering, including design and detailing of structures against seismic actions, seismic isolation, inspections, assessment and retrofitting.
The company was founded at first in 1965 as “S. Stathopoulos and Associates”, evolved later (1980) into “DOMI Partnership” and from 2008 its current legal form is “S. Stathopoulos – K. Farros DOMI S.A.” (“DOMI S.A.” in short).
Among the projects assigned to DOMI are: Poseidonos Underpass and the new building for associations of people with dissabilities in metropolitan pole Hellenikon - Agios Kosmas, Flyover at Peripheral Thessaloniki, Tsakona Arch Bridge T4, Euripus cable-stayed bridge (main span 215 m), Rion – Antirion cable-stayed bridge (main span 560m - participation in the design), Votonosi and Metsovo cantilever bridges of Egnatia Highway (main span 230m and 235m respectively), the arched road bridge of Tsakona (main span 300m), the bridge over Kifisos river in Athens (total length 1500m), Nedonas and Evrotas bridges, Keritis and Sythas bridges, the Olympic Weightlifting and Badminton facilities in Athens along with the Olympic residencies, a large number of offices, hotels and malls, motorway and railway tunnels (including a part of the Athens Metro), a lot of important interchanges in Athens, Health Centres and Hospitals all around Greece, the arrival/departure building of the old Athens airport, a notable number of underground garages etc.
DOMI S.A. has also a great experience of railway structures : Renovation and Upgrading of the Existing Double Rail Line between exit S.K.A and exit Oinoi, Tunnel reconstruction at the area of Agios Stefanos and construction of underpass at the existing railway station Aliartou / Railway Axis Thessaloniki - Strymonas - Promaxonas and connection to the Port of Thessaloniki , Greece (60 Km) / Durres-Tirana Railway , Albania (37 Km), Economic Appraisal of the whole Albanian Railway Network , Albania (441 Km) / Railway Axis Drama – Paranesti , Greece (100 Km))
At the area of strengthening, DOMI S.A. has implemented rehabilitation and retrofit of many existing structures including buildings, bridges, culverts etc.
DOMI S.A. has been involved in large hydraulic projects (Dam of Petrenia, Collection, transportation and processing of sewage of Zaloggo municipality , Ikaria hybrid energy project)
During the last years, the company participated in the detailed design of bridges at Germany, Austria, Nigeria and Canada.
The company occupies a significant number of engineers, draftspeople and administrative staff experienced in the design and supervision of structural and geotechnical projects.
It should be particularly noted that DOMI S.A. has formed a permanent Design Team, with major Greek companies, in order to cover all design fields required for exceptionally complex projects (roads, e/m works, hydraulic, environmental, architectural etc).
